What we’re looking for:
Our new IT Operations Administrator will play a critical role in helping our company achieve its goals by owning two roles in the Operations Team. The first role is to manage and improve the hardware and software services that our company runs on. As a fully remote company, you will make sure that our employees and customers have the systems and services they need.
In your second role, you will own and manage IT/Operations projects that improve both employee and customer experiences with tools and services. You will also lead projects that improve security for the company and our products.
As a member of the Operations team in a small company, you will be the IT person and assume the responsibility for managing, maintaining and improving Golden Software’s information and security systems. Golden Software is a fully remote company with no central office. As a result, this role focuses on the administration of cloud-based servers, cloud services, supporting remote employees, and ensuring data security.
As you would expect, this individual will be available for on-call support during our typical business hours and available for the occasional after-hours maintenance window and rare emergencies.
You’re the IT Administrator we’re looking for if…

You love to help people be productive.
-
You take pride in having everything running smoothly.

You understand the importance of keeping customer, employee, and company information secure.
-
You have experience working in a small company environment.
-
You have experience creating relationships and supporting remote workers.
Responsibilities
-
Provide support to your internal customers and occasionally the company’s external customers.
-
You are not just the “IT person”, you are also a go-to person for technical advice for our product, sales, marketing and customer success teams. You are expected to identify areas of improvement to the company infrastructure, get buy-in, and implement those improvements.
-
You will own the management of the hosted services that Golden Software relies on. These currently include services like Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, Zoom, Zendesk, AWS, Microsoft, and others. As well as identifying new or replacement services based on functionality, value and future needs is also an expectation for this role.
-
You will provide support and maintenance to our small number of EC2 servers as well as other AWS resources. This support includes updates, backups, and monitoring of the environment. You’ll work with other teams to make sure that the AWS services are meeting their needs and goals.
-
Data security and compliance are critical to maintaining our customer and employee trust. You are expected to take on various projects to improve, document, and monitor our data security and be compliant with common software industry standards.
-
Making sure that employees have the hardware and software they need rounds out the responsibilities for this role. You’ll need to be proactive in making sure that employees have hardware and software that allows them to be productive.
